Stay Classy has the best fitness environment.

THIS IS THE
CLASSIAN WAY

We are strangers who share a desperate desire to be better everyday and to relentlessly belong to something bigger than ourselves. CrossFit is our core connector and we aim to transform the lives of our families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors by advancing it. Through character, communication, creativity, and clahssy-ness we will rise to be lifestyle innovators in and through our communities.

The beginning of Stay Classy Crossfit

WHy stay classy crossfit?

Stay Classy CrossFit was born out of necessity. The concept was simple: Start with CrossFit, create a culture that maintained a balance between the integrity of OG practices and principles all the while pursuing interesting integrations, and by nature build a community, an enriching family experience that lives on the edge of CrossFit lifestyle innovation. We cater to everyone, but not everyone is a fit. We take different, non-traditional, courses of action, and they don’t all work as intended yet we keep trying things. We are always changing, yet sometimes even that consistency to make change seems like a slow process.

The name is a very important signifier for us. It’s not just a name, it’s our brand. Thus, it had to say a lot with a little. I wanted something that said “San Diego” without saying “San Diego”. Whether you knew what it is that we do or you're hearing the words CrossFit for the first time, I wanted people to feel an emotion to the name. Of course, I wanted it to be meaningful and purposeful as well. So be it taken for its literal meaning, to its crafty association with pop culture, we have a name that says: “Here I am, and who I am.”

The business model. I created Stay Classy CrossFit as an ode to my parents in terms of my expression of honoring their teachings on the importance of health and wellness. This is my first stroke in a much larger entrepreneurial art piece. I was so intrigued by the CrossFit business model: low barrier to entry, practically instant attachment to a growing and supportive community, freedom of expression of business practices, and I felt like paying forward an experience that helped shaped me in San Diego. So the question was, how can I make that better?

Immediately, I knew, I wanted to create a CrossFit experience that is best broken down as approachable, accessible, and affordable. Approachable: In SD, 9 out of 10 people have heard of CrossFit and if they haven’t practiced it or gave it a real shot, then they pretty much hate it already. Can we change that perception? If CrossFit can be for everyone, let’s be the ones to show them why it can. Accessible: The biggest battle with the gym, any gym is getting people to simply show up. Easy to get to, easy to park close to, and parking is free. Can we make more gyms to make them closer to more people? I’d love to. Affordable: Private school education at public school rates. We’ve found a way to sustain, the question is can we thrive with this model? If the product/ service is of valued consistency, then growth will happen. Out the gates, year one: approachable, accessible, affordable, these are my measuring scales on how we are doing as an experience.
