A Beautiful Community card

A Beautiful Community card

It starts with one.

Each. Every. Whole. Unit. Sole.

All. Together. Community. Team.

Easter Sunday is a reminder in the western world of the risen One. The story that centers upon this idea that death comes to us all, even the “chosen one”, but ultimately not even death can defeat new life. In a phrase, victory over death and thus, Easter was originally born as a representation of a second coming, a new beginning.

In practice, many of us reserve this day for gatherings amongst our friends and family. This Sunday, however, because of the quarantine, it carries a much different tone in play. Less trips to the stores and we’ll find less presentations of human sized bunnies, less neon marshmallow candies on shelves, less decoration kits sold, less colorful eggs found in random places, and less people dressed up around town in their Sunday’s best. But that does not restrict or lessen this idea of the celebration of new life, not in the least.

New life is an opportunity for new meaning, new purpose, new perspective. The opportunity to be reborn is a chance for a reset, a mulligan, a letting go of burdens of the past. One step in front of the other, one moment until the next, one day at a time. I’m reminded on this day about the power of One.

This time in our lives, if any, is showcasing the impact of this essential truth. One person, one decision carries the potential of an outstanding result, one by one, the singular is absolutely connected to the whole.

We received a card in the mail this weekend. It was from one of us. It read:

“Thank you (SCCF). You have create a beautiful community. And you treat us members more like friends & family. It’s awesome.”

With the card was a gift with the message “Stronger Together” and this most especially in this time rings ever true. And so, happy Easter to all, and we shall get through this side by side and rise as One.

Always,

LeeJ
